Réjean BélangerIn May 2013, Réjean was appointed co-holder of the chair for the Railway Research at the Sept-Iles CEGEP for a 5 year mandate. In this position, Réjean brings his 40 years of railway expertise throughout the world and his general expertise in the mining railway operations.

Since May 2009, Réjean is also President and CEO of  ConsultRail International a consulting company specialized in the railway industry. ConsultRail has worked with a number of major shipping companies, including mining companies, to provide technical railway expertise. Réjean has also negotiated a number of highly advantageous agreements with railway carriers.

Prior to 2009, Réjean worked in the development of international transportation markets and was responsible for the realization of various studies in the railway industry around the world such as Madagascar, Peru, Togo, Nigeria, Guinee and Indonesia.

Réjean was President of the Board of Transrail, a Senegalese company created by CANAC to operate and manage the 1250km railway concession in West Africa. As Vice-President-International of CANAC, he was responsible for the development of financial and marketing strategies of the International Division and as well as for the development and implementation of all overseas projects outside of North America.

Réjean has worked as a specialist in the design and construction of bridges and other civil engineering structures at Canadian National Railways. He has participated in a numerous technical and economic studies of large-scale projects and has partnered with the EBRD and BIRD for projects in Central and former Eastern Europe.

Réjean holds a Civil Engineering degree from University of Ottawa, a Master Degree in Applied Sciences from University of Montréal and a MBA from HEC.
